I thought the WWII ad at the top of our comm said Wii. I'm mad.

HAPPY B-DAY, LILS!

I will try, at some point today, to pound out a drabble or one-shot. I don't get very many ideas that aren't perfectly fit to the story itself, so it'll probably be very cracky.

Be on the lookout!

I mean, damn B. This took me almost two hours, because I just got practically all my research done. YES!

And she got a Mary Sue Litmus of only 25! ...That's almost sad. Rissie was like. 60. Cassandra would be like 107.

Name: Lillian Elizabeth Jennings. OH SNAP WITH THE MIDDLE NAMEAGE!
Nickname: Lil and Lils, of course. But that doesn't happen as often as it probably seems... that's more of an slight affection thing, or a teasing thing.
Birthdate: January 4, 1924. Friday's child is loving and giving.
Astrological Sign: Capricorn! Practical and prudent, ambitious and disciplined, patient and careful, humorous and reserved.
Age, for those not wanting to do the math: 19 in 1943. A baby!
Place of Birth: Don't y'all tell nobody, but RI Ice Princess was born in Booker, Texas. 'Bout as close as an August night to Oklahoma, y'all heard, population 'bout 600 at the time.
Current Residence [before leaving for Europe]: Grew up mostly in Warwick, RI. I reckon that's 'bout, 22 times the size. But at the time of leaving, was living in Pawtucket with friends. ...I reckon 'bout 100 Bookers could fit like sardines in them city limits. [/Texan]
Ethnic Background: Pure as pure English can be. Except the Doswells. They're purer.
Family/ Siblings: Mother, Agnes Staunton Jennings; Father, Walter Jennings; Elder sister, Ellen Jennings Doswell.
Hair Color: Brown.
Eye Color: Blue.
Occupation before Europe: Seamstress and sewing machine operator in a textile factory. :D Rhode Island Textile Co! We make uniforms!
Favorite Color: I'm thinkin' she's a light blue kinda girl.
Smokes? Not especially... takes it up briefly late in 1944.
Drinks? On occasion, and rarely to excess.

Schooling: Shitty one-room elementary schooling, but is a 3.8ish high school graduate.
Financial Status [family or personal]: Family was dirt poor in Texas, but started coming into more money when Agnes established herself to work. Ellen and Lil also worked for the family when Agnes would let them. In general, these ladies are very good at pretending they have money. Lillian herself saves up some money from working, and gets a pretty decent cash flow doing private sewing work out of the Pawtucket house when she has a spare moment.
Type of Childhood: Ohhhh boy. Well, the Jennings' were farmin' folk, and the effects of the Dust Bowl were all too much for them. One day Walt just up and disappeared -- to start a new life? To kill himself in peace? No one knows. Lillian was eight when Agnes finally left it behind them to live with family in Rhode Island, where she luckily found work and got her children through school. Lillian was a bit too quiet to be terribly popular, but nobody really had any beef with "the new kid." Lillian and the more outgoing Ellen were close, but Ellen was thirteen at the move, and when she graduated from high school she went back to the Texas she missed so much. So she met this guy Jim Doswell... ;) At any rate, Lillian suffered pretty badly from her sister's departure, and buried herself in school and friends till grad, when she moved to Pawtucket.
Relationship with Parents: Lil would probably punch her dad in the gut if she saw him, smack him across the face, then fall into his arms. That sort of thing. As for Agnes, Lillian has a definite respect and love for her mother, and speaks of her fondly and proudly. But there is a certain distance, a small rift between them that reared when Walt left and never fully dissipated.
Why She Left: She and best friend Gloria Fusco moved to Pawtucket together to seek life out on their own, and hooked up with a few friends there. Gloria brought home the USO info, all gung ho, and she got Lillian excited about the cause. Gloria just wanted to see Europe -- Lillian wanted to make a difference. Eventually, Gloria backed out, and it began a pretty bitter fight that more or less ended their relationship.

Social Situations- comfortable?: Yes and no. Lillian's not a vocal wordsmith by any means, mostly by choice, so making relationships is hard for her. If that person happens to be interested enough to press a little, she will open up with only a smidge of resistance. She seeks closeness with people, it's just difficult for her to obtain with her lack of initial involvement. Once that barrier is crossed, she's actually pretty charming and sweet.
Self-Image? [How does character feel about themselves?]: She's pretty mild in her opinion of herself -- she knows she's intelligent, she knows she's pretty, she knows she's capable of making a difference with her small contributions to life. But until she does, she's pretty meh. She also lets her brain get in her way.
Meyers-Briggs Result?: ISTJ. Inspector Guardians look carefully and thoroughly at the people and institutions around them. Making up perhaps as much as ten percent of the general population, Inspectors are characterized by decisiveness in practical affairs, are the guardians of institutions, and if only one adjective could be selected, "superdependable" would best describe them. Their words tend to be simple and down-to-earth, not showy or high-flown; their clothes are often homespun and conservative rather than of the latest fashion; and their home and work environments are usually neat, orderly, and traditional, rather than up-to-date or luxurious. In their choice of personal property, price and durability are just as important as comfort or appearance. Inspectors prefer the old-fashioned to the newfangled every time. Inspectors are not likely to take chances either with their own or others' money, and the thought of a bankrupt nation, state, institution, or family gives them more than a little uneasiness. The idea of dishonoring a contract also bothers an Inspector – their word is their bond. There we go. That's more like her.
Philosophy? If you think you should, do. If you think you shouldn't, don't. This of course will get challenged. :D
Greatest Character strength [whether or not the character would agree]: Lil will always be true to her word. If she says she'll help you, she will. If she says she'll volunteer for the USO, she will. She appreciates that within herself, too. I also love her ability to be profound without trying, however. She would disagree. ;)
Greatest Character Weakness? [again, whether they see it as or not]: She knows she needs to communicate better with people, and that she can, she just chooses not to.
Does the Character Have a Soft Spot?: As for a button to push, her father is a huge one. As for a real soft spot, it's probably her sister.

Optimist or pessimist?: She somehow manages to be an optimist.
Introvert or Extrovert?: On Myers-Briggs she's about 55I-45E. You just gotta get past her Rhode Island ice sheet!
One Word You [the writer] Would Use to Describe Character: I can't find a word for this, but it is a single concept, so I'm gonna go with it. If I think of a word I'll replace it: In her own way.
One Word the Character Would Use to Describe Themselves: Duty-bound. Hyphen! It's one!
Does Character Want the Typical Life of a Woman During the Time-period?: She'd be okay with being a demure mommy. I think it does worry her a little, though, considering what she watched her mom do. She doesn't let herself grow roots in anything, to escape that sort of thing.
Does the Character Happen to Play a Musical Instrument?: I don't think so. That money probably wasn't there. LOL. Maybe she'll surprise me?
[Even though I know we ALL know...]Character's Easy Company Fella: Don Malarkey! :D
